Every Memorial Day, communities across the country complete the Murph - a workout named after Navy SEAL Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005.
At Marble Valley Strength, we open our doors to everyone - members, neighbors, first-timers - to do this workout together. You do not need to be an athlete. You need to be willing to show up.
All proceeds from non-member participation go directly to the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
Join us at the gym, take on the workout, and contribute to the Murphy Scholarship Fund.

Absolutely. This event is built for the community, not just experienced athletes. Every movement can be scaled, including the run distance, pull-ups, and push-ups. Our coaches will help you choose a version that challenges you without burying you.
Heats start at 7:00am and begin every half hour after that until 10:00am. Once you register, you will be taken to a menu with heat selection options. Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early to warm up, get briefed, and meet the people you will be working out alongside.
At Marble Valley Strength inside the Howe Center in Rutland, Vermont. The run portions go just outside the gym, and the rest of the workout happens on the floor with us.
Comfortable workout clothes and running shoes are all you need. Bring water, a towel, and a friend if you can. We will have everything else - pull-up bars, mats, and supportive humans.
Net proceeds from non-member participation goes directly to the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation, which supports young people pursuing higher education in honor of Lieutenant Murphy's life and service.

Spectators are welcome and encouraged. Bring a sign, bring a cowbell, bring your kids. Cheering is a real contribution to the day.
